Did I not say no weapon formed against you shall prosper?
They will form but they will not destroy you,
You will not break.
Do not sit in defeat; you are not defeated.
I have asked you to cast all your cares on me,
So why do you sit in worry?
I am with you in your wilderness,
I am a “carry you through” God.
Give me your trust and be still,
Watch me take you over this hill.
I am still—in control, stop playing my role.
I am God from the beginning to the end,
I am God all by myself.
Did I not part the Red Sea?
Who spoke to the storm and it listened?
I called the sun and the moon into being once,
And today they still stand.
I give permission to day and night
I am God, the only God.
I am God on the mountain and in your valley,
I have given you my rod and staff;
I give you comfort in the mourning of your loss.
I am the God who said:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Are you resting at the table which I’ve placed before you?
Yes, the table that separates you from your adversities,
Are you dining there?
I am the God who said:
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters”
Will I not lead you in green pastures and to still waters?
Follow me those who are thirsty,
But I will not force you to drink.
Though the waters of life are up to your necks,
And your feet are weary from this narrow journey
Though the earth shake beneath your feet,
And there are days when your faith feels weak
I am a refuge, I am strength, even a present help.
Be Still and Know that I am God
And I will be exalted above your troubles.
Scripture Support: Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Wonderful poem. Powerful and insightful! I felt this!!🙌🏾🙏🏾
