You have endured many training and pruning
Like an Eagle, He plucks your feathers and breaks your beak.
He turns you upside down and inside out
He aligns your steps with a thin line
On narrow grounds.
He corrects you while awake and asleep
Because you are His mouthpiece.
His voice on earth, He has commanded you to speak
To the deaf and the “un-listening” ears
To family, friends, and strangers
Some will listen and some will reject.
But hold steadfast prophet,
You are not called to be praised by man
But to please God with your obedience
And to honor Him with reverence.
Be encouraged prophet!
With hot coal, He has scorched your mouth
Cleansing your speech, purifying your tongue
He corrects your vile vocabulary
Causing you to regurgitate bitterness.
With hyssop, He bathes you.
More than seven times He submerges you
In His sea of purification
Then He clothes you in a robe of consuming fire
And girds your waist with a cincture of truth
Not to be perfect but to walk upright in the land.
Listen to me, prophet, this is not a punishment
But it is significant to the weight of your calling.
For the words of your mouth and the meditations
Of your heart must be acceptable in His sight.
Trust must be established before
His secrets and emotions are revealed through you.
Be encouraged prophet!
“Alone, I am alone” is the cry of a prophet
Like an Eagle flying alone in high altitude,
Like Elijah hiding in a cave,
Your calling sometimes isolates you.
Be not depressed in this, Be not discouraged in this.
You are His Eagle;
Eagles soar with Eagles and never with a flock.
Moses left the crowd at the foot of the hill
When he went up to commune with God.
Be encouraged that your aloneness
Is not abandonment, but it is your mountaintop of holy communion with God.
No other birds fly the height of an Eagle.
Be encouraged prophet!
You are called to be poured out,
To be drawn from like a well in a desolate land.
Your sleep is interrupted by watchman duties,
Overseeing the eight watch hours.
While your companions are asleep,
In your anointing, you toiled onward through the night
Writing visions and cracking spiritual codes.
Your eyes are not your own,
But God’s telescope roaming the spiritual realm
Seeing on behalf of people and nations.
Your mouth is not your own,
But with God’s instruction, you sing of judgment and redemption.
Easily you can become an empty well
But remember God is your reservoir.
Be encouraged prophet!
With the weight of the world on your shoulders,
And the sorrow of the earth groaning in your ears
You have become a weeping prophet.
While He shares His secrets and emotions
You weep with your Father as He weeps for His children.
In your weeping, you isolate your tears
Until you have come down to the foot of the hill
Drunken in the spirit, with staggering steps,
You look for support to help you stand firm.
But you found none.
Broken-hearted, fear and anger overtake you
But His words are: “Do not be afraid, for I am with you and will rescue you,”
Be encouraged prophet!
Scripture Support:
Jeremiah 4:19 “My heart, my heart—I writhe in pain! My heart pounds within me! I cannot be still.”
Jeremiah 1:8 “Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.”
