Voice of God

It sounds like:
Three little birds chirping at my door steps
Melodies that give me chills of goosebumps
Causing the hair on the back of my neck to stand,
Bob Marley singing No Woman Cry.

It sounds like:
A 77 piece soulful symphony orchestra
On a Sunday morning worship
In Mississippi
Soothing like a grandmother’s humming
As she cleans early Saturday morning.
And attractive like the whistle of a grandfather sitting on his front porch
After a long day at work.

It sounds like:
The stomping of Buffalo soldiers marching to Zion,
Yes, beautiful, beautiful Zion.
Over the hills and through the valley
With feet splashing the dew from the grass.

It sounds like:
A song yet sung,
A wading in the water,
Mercies in the morning,
Rivers ever flowing
Freedom in the steps of a slave dancing.

It sounds like:
A “yes” when the world said “no”
A stream making its way in the dessert,
The sound of a bud as it blossoms in Spring time,
A mother’s lullaby to a crying child
And a father’s corrective instruction to his son.

It sounds like:
The wind dancing through the trees.
The sun rays penetrating through a cloud
The glorious clap of a thunder
And the flashing of lighting in a dark sky.
A cloud bursting after an evaporation process
Rain on a zinc roof in the Caribbean.

It sounds like:
A rushing wind in a mighty storm
A fire who’s flames dance on a burning bush
A separation of the Seven Seas
The shifting of tectonic plates before an earthquakes
An anchor hitting the ground,
The brakes of the Titanic before it crashes.

It sounds like:
A soft whisper being heard in a noisy city
Being heard above the car honks of road rage,
Above the rusty sound of a train on its tracks,
Above the arguments of angry pedestrians.

It sounds like the meaningful promises of a parent to a child. Its the Voice of God.

Scripture Support:
Jeremiah 10:13 “When He utters His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, And He causes the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain, And brings out the wind from His storehouses.” Revelation 1:15 “His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters.”

  1. It is so beautiful the majestic ways in which you bring out the Voice of God. When I thought on the title he gave me for the podcast, The Voice of Prayer, I saw a new revelation. Prayer has a voice. In this demonstration of the voice of God, it helps us not to confine one’s self to what we believe God’s voice is solely identified with, or the environment we perceive him only to be. Well done!
